Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

  • Morning:
    • Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.
    • Depending on your arrival time, you can visit Nairobi National Park, which is located just outside the city and is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of bird species.
  • Afternoon:
    • Enjoy a visit to David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to learn about elephant conservation or explore the Giraffe Centre to get up close with the endangered Rothschild giraffes.
  • Evening:
    • Check into your Nairobi hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

  • Morning:
    • After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park (approximately 2-3 hours).
    • Check-in at your accommodation (either inside or near the park).
  • Afternoon:
    • After lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its seasonal flamingo population (depending on water levels), white and black rhinos, lions, giraffes, and various bird species.
  • Evening:
    • Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Samburu National Park

  • Morning:
    • After an early breakfast, depart for Samburu National Park (approximately a 5-6 hour drive).
    • Arrive and check-in at your lodge or camp.
  • Afternoon:
    • Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Samburu. The park is known for its unique species like the “Samburu Five” (Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk) alongside lions, elephants, and leopards.
  • Evening:
    • Return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Full Day in Samburu National Park

  • Morning:
    • Early morning game drive to explore the park’s rich wildlife and diverse landscapes, including the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which attracts many animals.
  • Afternoon:
    • Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
    • In the afternoon, embark on another game drive or take a cultural visit to a local Samburu village to learn about their unique culture and way of life.
  • Evening:
    • Dinner at your lodge or camp and overnight stay.

Day 5: Samburu to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

  • Morning:
    • After breakfast, drive to Maasai Mara Game Reserve (approximately 5-6 hours by road or a 1-hour flight).
    • Check-in at your lodge or tented camp in Maasai Mara.
  • Afternoon:
    • After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Maasai Mara is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros), and offers excellent opportunities for game viewing.
  • Evening:
    • Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Full Day in Maasai Mara

  • Morning:
    • Take an early morning game drive to see wildlife at its most active. Explore the Mara River, which is famous for its wildebeest migration (seasonal) and resident crocodiles and hippos.
  • Afternoon:
    • Return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation.
    • In the afternoon, enjoy a second game drive or consider a hot air balloon safari for a bird’s-eye view of the Mara (optional).
  • Evening:
    • Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp.

Day 7: Maasai Mara to Nairobi

  • Morning:
    • Enjoy a final morning game drive in Maasai Mara to catch any last-minute wildlife sightings.
  • Late Morning:
    • After your game drive, depart for Nairobi (approximately 5-6 hours by road or a 1-hour flight).
    • Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your safari.

Day 1: Leave Nairobi City for Samburu Game Reserve

Leave Nairobi for Samburu National Reserve through Mount Kenya region. Upon your arrival at Samburu, you will enjoy game drives while entering the park. You get to the park by the end of the day. Lunch will be provided on the way and Dinner and overnight spent at a lodge or camp in the park

Day 2: Enjoy game drives at Samburu Game Reserve

This is the day where you will enjoy game drives the whole day, right after breakfast, JT Safaris guide will guide you through the nomadic tribesmen, also through wild animals such as Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Ostriches among others. Picnic lunch is provided on the way. You later drive back to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Leave Samburu for Lake Nakuru National Park

In the morning after breakfast, you leave Samburu National park and head southwards to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy the game drive while leaving the park. Lake Nakuru is a home for more than a million flamingos. Rhinos, Lions and other big cats. You enjoy a game drive while entering the park direct to your lodge where you spend your overnight. Dinner and lunch are provided

Day 4: Leave Nakuru for Masai Mara Game Reserve

Early in the morning, you start with a game drive before heading back for breakfast at your lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park. After your morning meal you leave for Masai Mara National Reserve. When entering Masai Mara, you enjoy a game drive on your way to a Lodge or Camp where you will spend your overnight. Lunch and Dinner is provided.

Day 5 & 6: Get More Game Drives at Masai Mara Game

In these two days, you get more game drives in the park. Starting immediately after breakfast. Mara is a home for the famous Big Five’s, that is Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Buffalos, Leopards and also other big animals like Giraffes, Zebras, cheetahs among others. You later get back to your respective Lodge or Camp for Dinner and overnight. Lunch will be provided during midday

Day 7: Leave Masai Mara for Nairobi


In this last day of the safari, you start with early game drive before getting back to your camp or lodge for breakfast. Later after breakfast you enjoy another game drive while leaving Mara for Nairobi. You arrive in Nairobi late in the evening and we drop you at a 5-star hotel. The following day you can catch a flight back to your home or start other safaris with Julius Tact Safaris
